Mario Kart Wii: How to finish a course in under a second

I shall explain in steps.

STEP 1: Pick your combo and the course you wish to pwn.
STEP 2: Finish 2 laps, and on the end of the third, stop dead before the finish.
STEP 3: Let the timer roll onto 99'59''999. After that, it should reset.
STEP 4: Drive across the finish.
STEP 5: Your time should be less than a second.

DILEMMA: Your ghost will probably be deleted from the rankings, but don't worry. You can always waste another hundred minutes of your life trying to do it again!
